TMJ SYNDROME

Temporomandibular joint syndrome or pain is a common entity for many people.

The temporomandibular joint connects the temporal or head bone in front of the ear to the lower jaw bone or mandible. The joint glides in order for us to open and close our mouth.

Symptoms of TMJ syndrome may include:

  • Ear pain
  • Sore jaw muscles or neck muscles
  • Temple or cheek pain
  • Jaw popping/clicking or locking of jaw
  • Difficulty in opening the mouth fully
  • Pain or tenderness along temporal region (side of head) or headaches
  • Ringing in the ears or tinnitus
  • Dizziness
